About Us

Community Health Clinic Ole

Community Health Clinic Ole (Clinic Ole) was founded in 1972 to provide health care to the resident and migrant agricultural workers in Napa County. With no County hospital and no County-provided primary health services, these low-income, uninsured individuals had nowhere to go for affordable health care. We began providing health services with volunteer physicians and staff from St. Helena and Queen of the Valley Hospitals in a small room above La Luna Market in Rutherford. Today, Clinic Ole is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and the only nonprofit community clinic in the County. We provide health care to 25,000 patients annually. We charge for services on a sliding fee scale, based on federal poverty guidelines. We provide primary and preventive medical care, including behavioral health services. In addition to our main clinic in the Napa Valley Vintners Community Health Center (Napa), we have medical clinics in St. Helena and Calistoga. We also provide weekly clinics at Napa’s two homeless shelters and we oversee a clinic for students at Napa Valley College.

Sister Ann Dental Clinic

Sister Ann joined the Clinic Ole family in 2005. In 1989, Sister Ann McGuinn of Queen of the Valley Hospital, created Queen of the Valley Children’s Dental Clinic to address the need for affordable dental care for children in Napa County. At that time, low-income, uninsured children who could not get dental care often ended up in the hospital emergency room seeking relief from painful dental problems. It was soon clear that a much larger dental facility was needed to serve this population. In 1991, with a grant from the State of California, a new clinic called the Napa Valley Community Dental Clinic was opened, and was later named Sister Ann Community Dental Clinic in honor of its founder. Today, we provide dental services to people of all ages in both Napa and Calistoga.

Healthy Moms and Babies

Healthy Moms and Babies joined the Clinic Ole family in 2009. Healthy Moms and Babies was founded in 1988 by neonatologist Dr. Robert Losey. Healthy Moms and Babies is the only State-approved Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program. It provides coordinated prenatal care to low-income women. Healthy Moms and Babies serves over 750 women each year, accounting for half of all births in Napa County. Healthy Moms and Babies works closely with all private Napa County obstetricians and certified nurse midwives who provide direct medical care to our clients in their private offices. We provide case management, psychosocial support, dietary counseling, gestational diabetes care, breastfeeding support, and education.

Napa Obstetrics and Gynecology Medical Group

Napa Obstetrics and Gynecology Medical Group (formerly Napa Women’s Medical Group) joined the Clinic Ole family in 2011. The office is located near Clinic Ole on Trancas St. Napa Obstetrics and Gynecology Medical Group is dedicated to caring for the health needs of women of all ages, whether they are just entering puberty, expecting a baby, or traveling through menopause. Our comprehensive women’s health care services include family planning, annual well woman exams, maternity care, menstrual disorders, menopause counseling and gynecological surgery.
