Kathy McFadden MS, RD, CDE, Manager

Kathy is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator. She has over 25 years experience in nutrition with an emphasis in diabetes and perinatal nutrition. Her past experience includes working with the California Diabetes and Pregnancy Program where she was involved in reviewing practice guidelines for perinatal diabetes care and in developing educational materials. She gained years of experience working with the Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program while she was at Sutter Solano Medical Center in Vallejo. On a more national level, Kathy has been working as a volunteer with the New Orleans Musicians’ Health Clinic to help promote diabetes self-management and support for musicians with diabetes.

Leigh graduated from the University of California at Davis where she studied Clinical Nutrition and Spanish. Leigh has experience working in maternal and child health, with a special interest in lactation education and childhood obesity prevention. She is also currently studying to become a Certified Diabetes Educator. She is grateful to work for Clinic Ole and Healthy Moms and Babies because she is able to help people of all ages become passionate about health and nutrition.

Samantha Lalush, Registered Dietitian

Samantha grew up in Chile and moved to California in 2002 to go to school. She graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she received her BS in Nutrition. Then she completed her dietetic internship at UCSF and became a Registered Dietitian in 2010. Samantha enjoys working in the community, and helping people learn about nutrition.

Evelyn CazaresEvelyn Cazares, Perinatal Educator/Case Manager

Evelyn came to the United States from Mexico as a young girl and graduated from Pomona High School in Pomona, CA. She then obtained her C.N.A certification and has since completed the Human Services Case Management program at Napa Valley Community College. She is a Certified Lactation Educator and works closely with women who have gestational diabetes, providing support and education. Evelyn joined Healthy Moms and Babies in 2001 and has many years of experience working with pregnant and postpartum women.

Luz CruzLuz Cruz, Perinatal Educator/Case Manager

Luz graduated from University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in American Studies and a focus on Public Health and Public Policy. Luz has been working with low-income families since 2003. She is a Certified Lactation Educator and is one of the instructors for the breastfeeding class at HMB. She enjoys working at Healthy Moms and Babies as she is able to help her community and aid women and their families in receiving the appropriate resources they need.

Anita Giglio MPH, RD, CDEAnita Giglio MPH, RD, CDE, Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator

Anita completed her internship for Clinical Dietetics and Master’s degree in Public Health at Loma Linda University in California. As a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator at the Healthy Moms and Babies, Sweet Success Diabetes Program, she provides education and support to women with diabetes in pregnancy. She also participates in the Napa County Breastfeeding Coalition and promotes lifelong healthy nutrition and physical activity habits.

Ana Gonzalez-Hammaker, LCSWAna Gonzalez-Hammaker, LCSW Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Ana received her BS and Master’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento. She has worked in the field of social work for 29 years and has been a Licensed Clinic Social Worker for the past 14 years. Her experience includes working in the Yolo County Child Protective Services, Foster Care Services, and Alcohol/Mental Health Services. She has been in private practice as a therapist both in Yolo and Napa Counties. As a therapist at Healthy Moms and Babies she believes that mental health of pregnant and post partum women is vital to the healthy development of their babies and their future.

Dalila Hernandez-RamirezDalila Hernandez-Ramirez, Perinatal Educator/Case Manager

Dalila came to the United States from Mexico as a young girl and graduated from Sonoma State University with a degree in Latin American Literature. She has been working with low-income migrant families since 2002. Dalila is a Certified Lactation Educator and provides instruction in a variety of group classes at HMB. She is currently continuing her education and is a candidate for a Master’s degree in Spanish with an emphasis in education from Sonoma State University. She feels passionate about helping clients improve their lives through education.

Maria Jacobo-Walker, RN, CDE, MPHMaria Jacobo-Walker, RN, CDE, MPH, Nurse and Diabetes Educator

Maria received her BS in Nursing from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska and her Master’s in Public Health at Loma Linda University in California. She has been a Certified Diabetes Educator since 1997 and works with pregnant women who have Type 2 or Gestational Diabetes in the Healthy Moms and Babies Sweet Success Diabetes Program. In April 2010 she completed the Infant Parent Mental Health Postgraduate Certificate Program from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She enjoys working with the underserved community in promoting preventive health care.

Marta MirandaMarta Miranda, Perinatal Educator/Case Manager

Marta is from Mexico City where she completed her BS degree in Psychology at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She also holds a degree in Education in Psychology and Counseling from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She is a Certified Lactation Educator and one of the instructors for the group breastfeeding class at HMB. Marta truly enjoys working with pregnant women, providing education and support in nutrition, health and emotional issues.
